Please use the CrashFree utility to recover the BIOS step by step.
First, please check what revision of CrashFree BIOS utility your motherboard supports:
If using CrashFree BIOS utility, you can recover the BIOS from a floppy disk.
If using CrashFree BIOS 2 utility, you can recover the BIOS from the support CD or from a floppy disk.
If using CrashFree BIOS 3 utility, you can recover the BIOS from the support CD or from a USB flash disk.
* To recover the BIOS from the support CD: A. Turn on the system.
B. Insert the motherboard support CD into the optical drive.
C. The utility displays the following message and automatically checks the CD for the BIOS file.
When found, the utility reads the BIOS file and starts flashing the corrupted BIOS file.
(Note: DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS! Doing so can cause system boot failure!)
D. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.
(Note: The recovered BIOS may not be the latest BIOS version for this motherboard. Visit the ASUS website www.asus.com to download the latest BIOS file.)
* To recover the BIOS from a floppy disk: A. Remove any CD from the optical drive, and then turn on the system.
B. Insert the floppy disk with the original or updated BIOS file to the floppy disk drive.
C. The utility displays the following message and automatically checks the floppy disk for the original or update BIOS file.
D. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.
(Note: DO NOT shut down or reset the system while updating the BIOS! Doing so can cause system boot failure!)
(Note: The recovered BIOS may not be the latest BIOS version for this motherboard. Visit the ASUS website www.asus.com to download the latest BIOS file.)
* To recover the BIOS from a USB flash disk. A. Insert a USB flash disk that contains the BIOS file to the USB port.
B. Turn on the system.
C. The utility will automatically checks the devices for the BIOS file. When found, the utility reads the BIOS file and starts to flash the corrupted BIOS file.
D. Restart the system after the utility completes the updating process.
2. If the BIOS could not be recovered successfully, please clear the CMOS (refer to the manual introduction)
3. If the problem still persists, please contact your retailer to have a further check.
